PVC Stabilisers

PVC STABILISERS
These stabilisers give PVC sufficient heat stability during processing and provide the finished article with the required durability in the course of its service life. Our products are used extensively in the building and construction as well as in furnishing and telecommunication industries. They are also commonly used for semi-rigid and plasticised PVC applications and in the manufacture of transparent packaging films and sheets, floorings, coated fabrics and automotive interiors.
Metallic Soaps
Application: Polyolefin, Polystyrene, FRP, Rubber, Paint, Cosmetic, Food, Medical, Pharmaceutical, Pigment, Cement, Coated Sand
METALLIC SOAPS
Metallic stearates can function as acid scavengers, lubricants, mould release agents, extenders, water repellent agents and other applications. This is due to their unique chemical structure and characteristics of having a metal and organic fatty acid component. They are, therefore, widely used as additives in many industries including plastics, rubber, coatings, cement, cosmetics, food and pharmaceutical.
At SUN ACE, we produce a wide range of metallic stearates to service different market sectors. In addition, we have obtained various certifications, including Kosher, Halal, NSF and JHOSPA to support customers’ requirements. This wide collection of certifications is made possible with the selection of vegetable-based fatty acid as our raw material. This allows us to declare that our stearates are not only BSE-free but also free of animal substances.

Applications
The Sun Ace range of additives for this application includes PVC stabiliser / lubricant one packs as well as impact modifiers and process aids. Apart from the standard range, Sun Ace is able to offer technical assistance to develop a tailor-made stabiliser/lubricant package to solve all extrusion and injection moulding processing problems. The one-pack range consists of products based on Lead, Calcium Zinc, Tin and Organic Systems.

WIRE & CABLE
Applications
Because of its excellent inherent dielectric properties, PVC has proved to be a particularly effective polymer for use in electric wire primary insulation and sheathing. Sun Ace produces a wide range of products for this application. Traditionally Lead has proved to be a very successful stabiliser, but today the development of "heavy metal free" stabilisers has been intensified.

CALENDERED SHEET & FILM
Applications
In this field there are many different stabiliser systems depending upon the final application; for rigid film, Tin stabilisers and Ca-Zn systems - which allow the production of food contact, medical, as well as technical film - are mainly used. In plasticised applications, stabilisers based on blends of metal soaps exhibiting a synergistic effect (Ba-Zn, Ca-Zn etc.) with co-stabilisers have been developed taking into consideration the end application requirements.

PACKAGING
Applications
Sun Ace has a complete range of additives for this application. Due to the market demands of crystal clarity in packaging materials and high processing temperatures, tins are generally used as stabilisers due to their excellent thermal stability. Generally bottles are produced with either Octyl tin or Methyl Tin Mercaptide Stabiliser due to the excellent heat stability that they impart. Where there is no food contact, Butyl Tin Mercaptides may be used. Where low odour and taint are requirements such as in mineral water bottles, Calcium Zinc stabilisers are preferred.

NON-VINYL APPLICATIONS
Applications
Sun Ace has a comprehensive range of additives used in non-vinyl applications. We are continually developing new grades and products to meet changing and expanding demands. Some of our plants are situated in Asia and are well placed to utilise the abundant supply of palm-based stearic acid. Special grades of stearates are also produced to specific customer requirements.
The application range of our thioesters extends from synthetic polymers to as far as lubricating greases. They are widely used as additives for polyolefins, EVA, ABS resins and latexes.

COATINGS
Applications
Sun Ace have for many years been a supplier of a special grade of Zinc Stearate used for wood coating. Sun Ace also supply PVC Copolymer Resins used in lacquers and adhesives.
RUBBER
Applications
Sun Ace is able to offer the rubber market a range of anti-tack coatings. Many problems occur with the handling of unvulcanised rubber in the processing plants. A barrier layer can be applied to the rubber surfaces to reduce adhesion. This barrier layer can be an organic fine powder, an inorganic fine powder, an organic film as well as a combination of these. These coatings are offered in a multitude of combinations and can be applied as water dispersible clays and Stearates as well as soluble soaps.
