Mandela Day
KEEPING GIRLS IN SCHOOL
At SUN ACE we see education as a necessity not a luxury. So this year for Mandela Day we chose to support an essential cause - keeping girls in school during their monthly menstruation.
One of the biggest, yet least spoken about challenges is the affordability of sanitary wear, especially those from lower income homes. School girls often skip school out of embarrassment and discomfort. Some single parented homes, or those with large families can barely afford food, let alone a luxury like sanitary towels.
Dignity Dreams provide a sustainable solution through the manufacture and distribution of washable sanitary wear, which are completely sustainable and eco friendly.
Dignity Dreams have also taken on the role of educators teaching young women, girls, boys, educators, community leaders and parents about menstrual health thus taking the shame and stress out of womanhood. As a result, our female scholars don’t have to skip school and don’t have gaps in their education. A truly “MandelaWorthy” cause:
According to South African Census, roughly 2,6 millions girls of mensural age are presently enrolled in public schools: Ref: http://www.dignitydreams.com

LEARNERSHIPS & INTERNSHIPS
What is a learnership:
A learnership is a work based learning programme directly related to an occupation or field of work, such as chemical engineering. Learnerships are managed by Sector Education and Training Authorities (SETAs) and were introduced by government to help skill learners and to prepare them for the workplace. What is an internship:
An internship is a period of work experience offered by an organisation for a limited period of time undertaken by students and graduates looking to gain relevant skills and experience in a particular field.

Fun in the Sun
PHYSICALLY DISABLED RESIDENTS OF PEARLY BEACH AND GANSBAAI CAN ONCE AGAIN EXPERIENCE THE JOY OF VISITING THE BEACH AND OCEAN As part of their commitment to the environment and community the Southern African Vinyls Association (SAVA) recently donated an imported beach wheelchair, made from PVC pipes, to Cross Home Care based in the Gansbaai area, Western Cape.
According to Delanie Bezuidenhout, CEO of SAVA, the wheelchair was imported from the USA and is the first of its kind in South Africa. It is made of medical grade PVC, has non-corrosive plastic bearings and high flotation heavy duty wheels, which allows the physically disabled to access the water and provides better mobility over unpaved areas.
