April 2008 Sun Ace expands to 10,000m² - new site in Jet Park
SUN ACE South Africa has successfully commissioned additional plant and capacity at new greenfields site in Jet Park.
The new plant will provide Sun Ace SA with the flexibility to produce both calcium zinc and organic PVC heat stabilisers as replacements for traditional Pb based systems, said Gary van Eyk, MD of Sun Ace SA.
Various market applications have different needs and Sun Ace has identified that organics and calcium zincs are options for the future as lead replacements.
Sun Ace boasts many years experience in calcium zinc technology, complimented by the Sun Ace group’s acquisition of the Cognis (Germany) stabiliser business interests worldwide in 2004. This acquisition was due to Cognis’s prowess in calcium zinc in key European markets.
The new plant is based on group technology and comprises of European manufactured plant and equipment.
The new factory site is located on a 10,000m² site in Jet Park with sufficient capacity for growth in power supply and future factory and warehousing space.
“The group is also well positioned in non-vinyl technology and the additional capacity is with this growth opportunity in mind,” said Van Eyk. |
